I just got mythtv working. Is there a post-processing job which can rename the episodes so they can be scanned into the library?

TV Shows can't yet, but there is a patch that you can try. http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/7197 (I've got a problem with my debug environment so can't fix the last problem, and need to wait until the next release to add new functionality). Note that the patch requires the air date for the TV Show to be included in the EPG that MythTV is using.
