I have no idea whats wrong but after Beta1 I have lost my automount. Harddisk mount working but USB storage or Flashdisks not mounted.

I used to use my own init script and runXBMC(http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=459...stcount=11). after automount broken I install xbmc-live and using maintainer init script. But automount not working with xbmc-live either.

If you need any other detail please just ask.
Hmm intresting but automount need "<handlemounting>true</handlemounting>" on my system. Is handlemounting false on XBMC default?
I would say the person to ask is Topfs2 since hes working of the devicekit however dont pester him.... Ask is ok, pester no.

Also your distribution is getting a bit old and your using custom stuff which im not entirely convinced is needed.

If I were you I would do a full backup of your instalation with your program of choice and upgrade to jaunty if you dont like it and you have more issues you can always restore that image and keep banging your head on this... Automount works it just doesnt mount by device name anymore for me neither beta2 nor RC1
I have latest stable Ubuntu (minimal install) and usb automounting not work for me since beta 1.

I check <handlemounting>true</handlemounting> settings later.

Update:

I confirm, <handlemounting>true</handlemounting> is needed on Ubuntu minimal - now usb automount works ok, also package pmount must be installed.
@b4sh

Is your "Self made HTPC" working fine?
I'm owner of an Asus AT3N7A-I too, but have several problems getting Ubuntu+XBMC working properly.
First i installed Ubuntu 9.10 minimal amd64 (from alternate CD), during the booting the system tells me about a problem with nforce2 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sourc...bug/440470), i could not configure lm-sensors (no sensors were found).
Then i tried ubuntu 9.04 minimal amd64 (from alternate CD). setup and installing nvidia-driver,xorg,alsa,xbmc,.. worked without problems
But xbmc is still not working properly, the nforce error is gone, lm-senors is still not able to find any sensors, now xbmc cant automout usb-drives (im starting it with --standalone, have installed pmount and added an advancedsettings.xml with handlemounting argument). but if im starting xmbc as root, automounting is working.

hope you can help me.
greetings
