Hi you all,
Small little question.
After I've done all the settings for resolutions in the xorg.conf file, the automatic switching of frequency according to media content works like a charm.
What I now would like to do is the same for resolution. For example if the media file is a 1080@24 file, I would like to switch to 1080p resolution, if it is a 720p, automaticall switch to 720p, and for a dvd switch to 576 or 480p.
Is this possible? I guess not, but it would be nice.
I have a DreamBox with an LT image as cable TV reciever, and that one allows me to do this. According to if the channel watched is HDTV or SDTV I can get it to change output automatically to what I have preselected to use.
The reason for this is that I feel that in the Dreambox case, the TV does a better job scaling the video than the box, and I feel the same for my XBMC setup. If I for example run a PAL DVD at 576p, it looks better than on 1080i.
Suggestions Welcome
