Full Version: Configuration dialog for key mapping

Something that would have save a lot of time and avoid a lot of posts(specially on xbmc linux), is a graphical config for key map in xbmc.

It would consist of a dialog on system settings. With a list of "xbmc actions" with it's respectives keys from keyboard and/or remote. When you select an action it asks for a key press. Just like in "control setting" in a pc game.

I'm tired of editing half a dozend of xml and conf files, without any success. I have an ATI Remote Wonder II 80% works out of the box. But withou 100% it's useless.

Thanks to all the developers and the community for this great piece of software.
Problem is, in a game you have global controls only. In XBMC, they can be context based (per window). So all you end up with is a completely confusing GUI, which solves nothing but giving you a pretty way to get pissed off at the damn thing.

We aren't particularly satisfied with the map-ability anyway. Odds are it will change at some point, negating any work.

As always, we'd be interested in taking a look at any patches. Anything other than code won't likely draw much attention.
