I am thinking of buying a new 50" plasma tv tomorrow

To go with this I am also considering an Asrock ION 330 system to stream content to the tv from my server.
Originally I was looking at something in the 37-42" range, but this Samsung popped up on my radar at what seems like a decent price.
I've searched a lot, but there is little info' about this t.v - some good feedback and some not so good. Mostly it seems good.
The Asrock Ion 330 supports 1080P - does the collective think this will be up to streaming dvd, ripped content and bluray, xVid etc. sufficiently well and will it look ok on a screen of this size? Or would I be better off with a smaller screen?
I am intending using XBMC running ontop of Ubunut 9.10 or XBMC as a standalone. At some stage I might add a t.v tuner card for recording if XBMC supports it.
