Hi ,

this is my first post :-)
I did now play since days with the xbmc and i dont get it to work well.

i had some problems to get my xbmc 9.11 Camelot setup to run.
I did only get 15 frames on my Asrock ION 330HT with the NVIDA PPA Driver 195 and VPAU.

i did use this script to setup my system http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=55282&page=18 (Version in Post 176)

CPU Load is 140% during playback.

And it makes no sense if i change the Render Method in xbmc.

What is wrong here ...?

seems like ffmpeg has severe issues with the stream. are they interlaced by any chance?

ahem... did you install libvdpau? it seems you didn't

Some one can help me ?

sudo apt-get install nvidia-libvdpau-195-dev or thereabout.

if you don't need ubuntu with all applications, I'd still recommend going the live install route
with minor settings it works out-of-the-box on ION systems

in recent distros you can't sudo apt-get install nvidia-libvdpau-195-dev
i guess you need to sudo apt-get install libvdpau libvdpau-dev (maybe libvdpau1, i can't remember) as libvdpau has gone standalone

did give me an error -> Can´t find paket nvidia-libvdpau-195

sudo apt-get install nvidia-libvdpau

did work for me ! I get this in my terminal window

anyway, it's just sudo apt-get install libvdpau, if you have nvidia-vdpau ppa setup
nvidia-185-libvdpau, i think, are from standard ubuntu repositories and are quite old

as u can see i did sudo apt-get install nvidia-libvdpau
but i got a notification that nvidia-185-libvdpau was selected in instead of nvidia-libvdpau.

I did set add-apt-repository ppa:nvidia-vdpau/ppa and did download the NVIDIA Driver via apt-get install linux-headers-generic nvidia-glx-195 -y
this works well but not the sudo apt-get install nvidia-libvdpau command. It give the log below

Here is what worked for me:

I first removed all nvidia drivers with:

sudo apt-get autoremove nvidia-glx*

Then installed the 195-30 drivers:

sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx-195

Finally, installed the correct version of libvdpau (thanks succo!):
