I'm having fairly consistent hangs with Camelot Live on an ASRock ION 330.

These happen when the machine is idle for a few mins after playing videos. When I try get it going again, it is completely unresponsive, and the machine needs to be rebooted to get it going again.

The last few lines of the log always looks like this:

My video library is on a Win7 machine, not sure if that is relevant, but that message is always the last one in the logs.

Anyone else experiencing this or have ideas on how to fix it?

My full install log is here.
I'm using the linux svn and yes, i have the same problem, i have to SSH in and restart kdm each time i forget to shut down XBMC on the htpc when i'm not using it :/

where do i find the debug log? i usualy start xbmc through the terminal but i cannot even tab out and see what went wrong Sad
Im having a similar issue with full version of Ubuntu 9.11 on my revo with XBMC Camelot. But more after being idle for 45 mins or more.
Anyone figure this out?
for a full debug log see my signature on how to post about a problem.

win7 network shares can be tricky. to rule out win7 and shares problem
i suggest that you manually copy a movie file over to the xbmc box so it is stored locally. Then try to play that file and see if you can reproduce. Atleast then we know where the problem is.
Sorry for the ambiguity Box. i Will post the log when i get home tonight as for the details
Ubuntu 9.10 standard Distro 32bit
XBMC 9.11: Camelot
Install Method: PPA

Hardware Specs are Acer Revo 1600, w/ upgraded ram 2gbs

As for the issue with the device idles for 40+ mins after any playback the device will hang and not be responsive. Standard install power profiles, with no edits
Again ill post log when i get home

What shares are you connecting to though? Mine are Windows 7 (OP).
Currently i have SMB shares of Xp and Windows 7
I seem to be having the same issue.

I'm using XBMC 9.11 on Ubuntu 9.10 on Zotac ION 330.

If I forget to shutdown XBMC and leave the computer on, the next day I have to reboot because XBMC is unresponsive.
Same same here. Pausing streamed videos results in frozen system. I have played around with the screensaver, since it´s allways after a fixed period of time...

Ubuntu 9.10 standard Distro 32bit
XBMC 9.11: Camelot
Install Method: PPA
Nvidia 190.xx

Shares: Linunx NAS SMB
Same problem here. Installed XBMC live to hard drive of stock ASRock ION 330HT (BIOS 1.10, installed IR drivers 1.0.1 from ASRock). Aeon skin. Connecting to SMB shares hosted on Netgear ReadyNAS (model X6, RAIDiator 4.16).
Anyone got any ideas about this? It's very frustrating and quite consistently crashing.

I can't get a proper debug log for it because with debugging on it doesn't happen - grrr! So I am guessing something about debugging keeps something alive that then doesn't cause the crash.

Happy to try anything to get it fixed, it's definitely getting some negative WAF points having to reboot it three times a day...
Odd, I'm getting this now. When before I didn't.

I've changed 2 things. I've upgraded my revo to 2GB, and changed the motherboard on my freenas, and added hardware raid. The shares/files all appear as before (iso's, mkv's and vob's).

I've ruled out a few things. I've changed between, 2 skins, still the same crash. The crash only appears to happen after I've played a file. So last night I was able to play 3 episodes of a .mkv and only after I returned to the TV this morning, had xbmc crashed. I left it the other night without having played anything, and when I returned 12hrs later it was still at the home screen.

The playing of the file, and leaving, appears to lead to the error.

All of my log files end in 'NOTICE: Samba is idle. Closing the remaining connections.'

Log files to follow. I'm using Karmic btw.
To the XBMC Devs - what is the approach to follow when several users report a bug, but the bug doesn't seem to occur when debugging logs are swtiched on?

How can we provide you with the info you need to track down the issue? Happy to try just about anything, I am running largely stock camelot on an ASRock ION 330 connecting to Win7 shares (I updated Samba for this to work via browsing). A pretty common scenario I'd guess.

In my sig below I have a link to my install report for more info that may be useful. But given this is a regular crashing bug in the current stable release(although only in the interface, never while playing) - it would seem to be important to track it down, perhaps?
I believe I may have solved my issue, it certainly didn't crash over night after playing a file. It appeared by freenas smb shares where set to anonymous login's, so I added a user/password, and I hope it should be ok.

I'll test again later.
Hi everybody,

did anyone of you file a bug report yet? You should consider that if you want this one fixed...

BR!
