i have an asus at3n7a-i mobo with via VT1708S sound card. kernel version of alsa is 1.0.20. i need to have at least 1.0.21 version in order to run sound on it. problem is that i can not find any solution for this. manually compiling works but it is verry easy to miss some module.

i have done compiling kernel 2.6.32.2 with various results. sometimes working alsa but no lirc or something else.

i have twinhan receiver with emulates keyboard.

Latest Alsa-Upgrade-Script update 01/06/2010 Rev. 1.0.22.1-2

It will get you to 1.0.22 version.
Painless and very straight forward solution. Often updated too.
Read the whole thing to get good overview of what is happening or just go down to the bottom of the post and get the script.
