Hi - hoping to get a little advice on my problem.
Am based in UK - but using smartdns and raspbmc. am unable to find any videos or live streams that work in the svtplay plug in currently. it is not my smartdns that is causing the problem, as i can watch fine using my laptop with same dns entries. this seemed to start 10 days ago. my wife enjoys svt1/[/code][/php]svt2 and kids miss barnkanalen

i wonder if there is any other addin that i could have installed which could interfere with svtplay? have removed one that was installed around that time point. if try to watch a stream then i get a script error. have reinstalled svtplay and am using 4.0.9.

been googling my error log - but am none the wiser. do any of you have any ideas of what i could check?

Hope someone can point me in the right direction, as it appears most of you can currently use the svtplay xbmc addin

I had a similar problem not long ago (a month or so) on my RASPBMC Pi.
My Pi is on 24/7 and had been so for at least 4-5 months.
It turned out that by restarting the Pi (from the XBMC menu) it started to update itself (automatically done by RASPBMC), which took a while.
But after it was done the system is MUCH snappier and the SVTplay functionality was back again.
It still works fine (just checked).
So if you have not restarted your Pi in a long time a restart with update might be a good idea....

Usually leave my Pi on 24/7 too, but i have restarted this several times a day (from XBMC menu) since the problem started (as well as stripping off most other addins) - in case there were some pending updates. I did have a similar problem also a month back, but see that was a general problem due to SVT having updated their code, and that was fixed on the Nilzen github repository.

I went through a load of programs on svtplay last night and found a few that work - although there were many that didnt. Also could not start any of the "Channels" which stream live.

I did a freshbuild of raspbmc and only added in svtplay to it - had same problem then. Are you able to use the live streams ok?

If you go to SVTplay with your PC browser, are some of the programs you want crossed over?
Some are blocked for viewing outside of Sweden.
I will check live streaming later today, have to rush out now.

I use a smartdns proxy service so that i appear to be in Sweden - otherwise i can see very little. Svtplay works great on a laptop (using same smartdns) - no problems, can see live channels etc. But via the svtplay addin i get script errors and very few of the available programs can be viewed - this only started 2 or 3 weeks back. DNS settings all check out ok.

I selected the Live line and then scrolled down to find something airing now.
When I got to the bottom of the list (Kulturnyheter) the remote stopped working and after a little time the Pi restarted!!!!!!
So I guess someone has goofed up on SVT again.
Now waiting for it to come back on line.

After which it hung when going down the add-on list. It froze solid (no restart this time) when I reached The Daily Show line...
The Pi can still be reached via PuTTY, but it does not react to the remote (YATSE) buttons.
I give up....

Now after restarting (sudo shutdown -r now) via PuTTY and having lunch I could navigate into "KANALER", which is where the live streams live.
Tested 3 channels and all worked, even though the picture quality was rather low, much worse than on the regular play channels.
I have no idea why the two initial tests crashed, but right now it seems like the system behaves normally.

My problems persist. I tried another xmbc client (xbmcbuntu) and also get same behaviour there - yet the SVTplay.se webpage functions perfectly on same laptop when i log in at linux gui (using same smartdns config). Any one know if ther SVTplay addin calls up different streams to the standard SVTplay webpage? Can't understand why same network config works for webpage but not for the xbmc addin

There are still a lot of the menus that doesn't work at all any more, I can only get in to "Senaste program" and "Sista chansen" , all other gives a blank menu or just error when clicked.

My problems have gotten worse too - as I have the same issue as Bjarne now after SVTplay automatically updated to 4.0.10

I suspect that the plug-in has a hard time following a moving target (the SVT website).
They are all the time updating their pages and since the plugin probably reads the website source to parse it to find the different programs it will have a hard time when SVT constantly changes stuff around.

Some time ago I asked SVT for an API to access the on-line material (to be used by a plug-in like this) but they said they had no plans for such. So webpage source analysis is still the only way and gets complicated when they change the system around...

Correct Bosse_B. Usually they are just changing the html classes that the addon is using for scraping the site.

For example: play-alphabetic-link changed to play-alphabetic-list__video-link which broke the "Program A-Ö" menu.

Bjarnek and tristanw; It is working for me. Only thing that was not working was the "Program A-Ö" menu.

It's my number one addon and i just hate SVT for this shit.
