I'm trying to install XBMC on a USB stick and then boot from that on my ASUS EB1012. Because the EB1012 doesn't have a CD-ROM I used my laptop to create the bootable USB and selected the option to install to a hard drive. I got the bootable USB going but after the boot I was left at a command prompt. I expected XBMC to start automatically. I type in xbmc and got these errors;
Error: unable to open display
FEH.py: cannot connect to X server
During the install when I was prompted to create a user I did not enter xbmc nor did I use xbmc for the password. Is that a problem?
Since then I tried to recreate the bootable USB using my laptop but instead of getting the setup screens I get a grub prompt. I'm at a loss on how to proceed. Any suggestions?
