Quite Long but please help me !

Hi everybody. First post. I read other messages but without answer.
Received and installed crystalHD Card. Install also XBMC 9.11 + sv r27500 + CrystalHD Driver r17.
After that setting render on CrystalHD. Hd content perfect ! Both 1080 than 720 !

The problem is SD content. Now is stuttering (before CrystalHD installation all ok). It seems VOB directory is bad than avi or files. Data on ethernet NAS. However, before last hardware and software update, the same files was good !

Tryed to power off, same things, tryed to reinstall only XBMC 9.11 + svr27500 (without Crystal Driver) same things (sure hd content dont work since i'm not using crystal driver) but again sd content stuttering.

WHY ?!?

Thanks for support
Turn the render method to auto or the crystal card tries to decode everything (not a good thing).
Why would you do that CrystalHD can play SD just fineHuh
OP mentioned VOB files (if somewhat confusedly!)-

I'm sure Davilla was also recommending elsewhere to use other render methods for SD playback at the moment.

Buzz, wrong. CrystalHD kicks back to ffmpeg for anything SD except for h.264 content. Auto picks CrystalHD as renderer if found.
I'm confused ... (perhaps for my poor english !) :-)

However Davilla suggest NOT to turn to auto, so i have to change from "software render" to "Crystal Render" when i change from SD to HD content and vice versa ?

Why it seems that i've stuttering video (not all sd material but some viewed best before crystal) when i choose Software render ?

Thanks

I think what you're supposed to do, is leave the setting to crystal HD renderer all the time. when you play SD content, the ffmpeg decoder will take over automatically. XBMC will choose which decoder it uses for which content so you don't have to.

Well, that explains why, when I have Crystal HD on, the SD and DVD content play well.....

And I thought that the Crystal HD "worked" with my AVI files. Not! It was actually XBMC falling back to ffmpeg. Guess there's no reason to convert my MKV files to AVI just to use the Crystal HD, huh?!? :p

[lightbulb goes on]

It is actually the H.264 content that is not working regradless of container!

Your comments make no sense, AVI is a container. It's what's inside that matters. h.264 is routed to CrystalHD regardless of container (m2ts, mkv, avi, etc). It not, then http://www.pastebin.com xbmc.log so someone can see it and STOP guessing Smile xbmc.log tells all.

Ok, sorry..... What I meant to say is that I convert my SD DVDs into MKV files using H.264. (to me, the files are smaller and 'crisper' than my Xvid AVI files).

My Xvid AVI files play fine and my H.264 MKV files do not. (because the Xvid is not routed through the CrystalHD). Therefore, I will not convert my entire library to Xvid with the thought of benefiting from the CrystalHD.
Blush I shut up now.....

I swear, it's like pulling teeth. Now we see that you mean Xvid. Xvid is h.264 part 2, CyrstalHD handles h.264 part 10. Your Xvid AVIs are not using CrystalHD. XBMC.log and MediaInfo for those H.264 MKV files that are not playing. Use http://www.pastebin.com.

Not sure , but I think I got what you asked for.
Media Info is below debug log:

That Pastebin site is trippy!

Looks like #4 (http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=69384). A single seek forward should re-sync.
Sorry, but my orginal Thread remains without answer !

If CrystalDriver render method works only on HD content, why i have stuttering on SD material ?

Thanks
