andyblac Wrote:do you have 1.09 beta ? if so just keep the 2 required buttons press whilst it performs scan, it can take a while for ubuntu to see the remote
When does it perform a scan?
Have a look on the support site to show you what steps I have done:

Thanks
I have got into the setup for v1.09 and selected to install the Sony Remote, but I am now stuck.
I have been holding Enter and Start while it scans for the remote but it never finds it.
Can I try anything else to get this working?
did a fresh setup on my Zotac ITX 9300 board.. Seems to work very well...
Maybe you could add to script the automatic download/update of some of the famoust skins...
A option for 23.97 fix I didnt found.. but the script from jumjum in this forum worked very well...
Suspend etc. works now too

hi,
does the script work on ubuntu 10.04 beta1?
Is this script automating the process to support mce2 remote out of the box?
cheers,
Toby
i don't see option to only activate optical audio only, is there a way to do that?
edit: forget that, just select icexxx in xbmc and not hdmi and it's good.

Sorry but where is the "AT3N7A-I Bluetooth Dongle" support?
I'm trying to add it to an existing XBMC install.
I tried posting this on the XCI forum but I can't seem to login onto SourceForge.
I use an Asron ION 330 with Ubuntu Karmic Minimal 32-bit. Expert install, enabled root login, used the whole disk for installation as one partitions and choosen for linux generic kernel.
I ran the script earlier when a VGA monitor was attached and everything ran fine. When I came home and hooked up the system on my Plasma TV I only got a blank screen and no signal on my TV (HDMI).
I reinstalled Ubuntu Minimal and ran the script again with the TV attached all the time. I thought it might had something to do with resolution and refresh rates or something. Unfortunately XBMC won't start after the initial installation and reboot. Just a login screen on my TV but with a higher resolution compared to before I ran the script so something tells me the Nvidia driver was installed properly. I re-ran the script several times and installed all the versions of Nvidia driver with without any success. Uploading logfiles didn't display me any URL's so I could's past them here.
What to do now?
A quick question for anyone who has followed this method exactly, what size does the minimal ubuntu install + xbmc live take up on the disk?
I curretly have xbmc live installed to a 2 gig sd card, which I use to boot my acer 3610, but I would like to replace this by this minimal ubuntu method.
Cheers, toM
Some problems:
When trying to run the script it fails trying to install the
dialog package. This is because the multiverse karmic repos
is not added in the sources list by default.
Or i did something wrong during the ubuntu install, the screenshot links
are dead so i guessed my way trough it
to fix this:
Code:
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list
if you dont have nano you need to install it:
Code:
sudo aptitude install nano
then add these to your sources.list:
Code:
deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ karmic universe
deb-src http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ karmic universe
deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ karmic-updates universe
deb-src http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ karmic-updates universe
deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu karmic-security universe
deb-src http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu karmic-security universe
Save the sources.list -
then do update:
Code:
sudo nano aptitude update
run the script again !
Hi All,
I'm a little tired of Confluence skin... Can anyone point me a beautiful "light weight" skin or at least light enough to run well with ASRock ION330?
Thanks in advance.
I'm planning on getting an ASRock 330 as well. Does it not handle heavy skins well? I'm a fan of andyblac's ShowMix 2.5. Can the ASRock handle that?
