Full Version: Bug in SMB shares

I have my server setup with a number of separate shares. The server is running Windows Home Server, though I'm not sure how specific this problem is to that platform. Guest access is ordinarily disabled on the SMB shares, and I have a username and password for my XBMC PC running the Ubuntu Live distro.

The bug is that XBMC is unable to browse the SMB root on the server with the username/password, even while Ubuntu is able to. However, if I enable Guest access, then XBMC is able to browse the SMB root through to the shares, which I can then add as Sources on XBMC.

After I've added the Sources, I can disable Guest access on my server again, because the problem only comes up in the SMB root. Thereafter, it's capable of using the username/password successfully to access the sources directly, but is once again unable to view the SMB root.
