Full Version: [AppleTV] Remote up-down function misbehaving

With my most recent update, XBMC sometimes thinks I've pressed the up or down button several times when I've in fact pressed it just once. I normally use a Harmony but I've double-checked with the Apple Remote. This problem is only within XBMC and not at the Finder/Launcher level of operation.

ATV 2.4
Launcher 3.2.2
CrystalHD driver originally installed manually, now using r17 from Launcher
XBMC svn r27527 installed from Launcher

Let me know if I need to provide more information

Thanks.
I'm having the same problem, at least I know it's not my remote anymore!
The same here with aTV OS 3.01.
I also noticed that browsing through the menus has become a little sluggish.
Yup, noticed similar VERY recently.

I'm also still on the old 2.4 software. And I can definitively say it happened when I updated XBMC. I hadn't reported it as I hadn't recorded the previous working version of XBMC so can't give a point of reference.

I'm running the Confluence skin and everything was great up to somewhere below 27400. I fired on something around 27430 last week and immediately the remote has become sluggish and unresponsive, sometimes registering multiples, sometimes ignoring the press totally.

I also note that if I hold down the button it seems to scroll through long lists 3/4 items at a time then pauses, then flies on another few items, etc etc... and Confluence was sooo good up until now. Sad

If I get a chance tonight I'll start winding back the versions and see if I can get close to the break point.
I will wait for the next nightly (today), because playing HD content has become very satisfying with the recent releases.
Thanks for the report. Just skimmed over the changes of last week but could not find anything related. Does one know the last working version?
Last working version was r27500 afair.

I will be able to install and test current nightly (r27597) in a few hours, will let you know if issue still persists,
Same with r27579.
I then installed back to r27451 and noticed the same effect, even in XBMC root menu (simply hold down the arrow key for a second or two and XBMC starts scrolling endlessly until you press the menu button).
Installed official 9.11 then - everything's fine here.

Please let me know if you need more information and/or investigation.

How does one roll back the revision?
- ssh into aTV
- download required dmg: wget http://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/osx/xb...nk-x86.dmg
- download update script: wget http://atv-xbmc-launcher.googlecode.com/..._update.sh
- make update script executable: chmod +x xbmc-9.04_update.sh
- run update script: ./xbmc-9.04_update.sh xbmc-r27597-trunk-x86.dmg
- reboot: sudo reboot

Thanks, Bobby. My version is unusable because of the remote issue.

P.S.: r27500 has the same problem
