(2015-02-18, 09:07)malte Wrote: [ -> ]New test version available: 2.1.1

List of changes:

General
  • kodi compatibility: fix label positions in missing info filter dialog
Browse Games
  • new option (addon settings): max number of games to display
Launch Games
  • new option (edit rom collection): make local copy (thanks to sklick)

I forgot one dialog that still showed some blank items, I hope I have them all fixed now. I also added two more options: "max number of games to display" will help users with large collections to limit the number of games that are displayed in the ui, "make local copy" will copy the rom file to a local temp dir before the emulator is launched. This should help users that have issues with launching roms from external sources.

Previous version: 2.1.0

thank you malte fot this update. I have selected 100 games to display but
I don't understand how to access to the next 100 games in my large rom mame collection .
thank you for your answers
Is there a way to ignore error pop ups while importing collections? I'm getting pop about writing xml for a specific rom while importing collection, this halts import. I'm hoping i can just ignore these as my libraries are quite large.
nalias Wrote:O, i hope I am not missing some obvious xbmc setting.. but is it possible to run the import scan in the back ground? Can it be 'detached' from xbmc as a separate program/script that is updating the same db xbmc is reading?
You can try the background scraping option in Addon settings. But I haven't tested it for a long time to be honestSmile

It does not work like paging. It will show x number of games and thats it. Everything else you have to do with additional filters or larger numbers.

No, there is no option like this atm.

Thanks Malte,

Is this a valid work around

"As an advance workaround, you can comment out line 1207 of \resources\lib\dbupdate.py to suppress the error dialog (it will still be logged in the xbmc.log)."

Also do you prefer to post issues here or have them logged in code.google?

EDIT: now line 1211
Update: Ignore this post, thanks to nalias who pointed out that my configuration was off.

Okay..

So the above worked...but now i have another issue. Since upgrading to 2.1.1 (because of issue Here ) I can no longer launch roms. They were working before updated rcb. I tried popen and solo mode...no joy. If i take the cmd and run manually it works.

geopgin - I could be dead wrong with how retroarch cores are working, but you're calling a NES game with a SNES core.. that works? Also, I would test to see if it works with roms that don't have the 'special' characters like space and bracket. Should also note that I too had the error on import, and applied the fix you found seems to work perfectly, not sure why a info notice throws up a user diag. anyway..

Launch is broken for me too, in gotham and only with zip files, if i turn off extract zips the launch command works.. sad because i love that feature.
Hey Nalias, thanks for that catch. That explains my NES issues, which i have since corrected. My SNES is still pooched but maybe its a config issue as well. I don't think i messed around with them since i patched rcb but i'm new to kodi/rcb/retroarch and just started playing with cpl days ago so i have been all over the place. I'll take another look tks. i'll post back ether way

EDIT: FIxed SNES, The library's got swapped around, not sure how i did that.
Can somebody show me a log file of unzipping not working? I tried every possible combination of zipped/unzipped/local copy on Gotham and Helix and I can't reproduce this error.

Hello everyone,

been using RCB for over a year now and never had issues. But since upgrading to Kodi I can't seem to solve some problems already mentioned in this thread before on my own. So here I am asking for some help. Wink

I'm suffering from the exact same problem as described here:

(2015-01-04, 01:13)nektahiti Wrote: [ -> ]
(2014-12-04, 23:16)jrbilodeau Wrote: [ -> ]I just loaded up RCB on KODI RC2 and configured a snes rom collection using snes9x on linux (ElementaryOS Luna) which is working, however once i go into RCB and press c to edit settings the is a bunch of text missing on the screen.

I am using the default skin that comes with XBMC.
I have the same issues. In most of the dialog boxes that should look like this:
Image

All the right side options text are missing. So there is no way to know what scraper or option is selected when using the up/down arrows.

Any pointers on what's going on here?

Would also like to thank whoever it was that posted about changing the x/y to get the offset menus back where they belong Smile

I already tried everything from replacing the XML-files like described in the following post. I also changed the x and y values myself but nothing solved my problem. Tried every version from 2.0.16 to 2.1.1 and reinstalled RCB multiple times.

(2015-01-05, 11:46)Aurelien Wrote: [ -> ]Hi,

I have the same problem... could you send your modified files ?

I wonder why there is this problem, is there any change in Kodi layout management ? Because I think the problem should appears with a lot of plugins, not only Rom Colelction Browser...

I agree. It seems strange that the positioning would change between releases. It seems like it would be all or none too. So all the labels should be off. Also it seems like it's only the combo boxes/lists that are experiencing the issue.

The problem here is that the posx + width are grater than the width of the parent element. I am guessing Kodi used to fix wrongly defined elements and suddenly just stopped fixing them.

If I knew how I would attach my fixed XMLs.

Edit:
These are for version="2.0.17"
script-RCB-editromcollection.xml
script-RCB-editscraper.xml
script-RCB-importoptions.xml
script-RCB-missinginfo.xml
script-RCB-removeRC.xml

I am sure they are not 100% as author intended, but they are working and they will get you by until a real fix comes.

In addition, the nfo-files from some of my ROMs are not scraped correctly anymore.
For example when scraping Mario Kart 64 there is no chance to get the plot description.
Even though the old nfo-file with plot description is still there.

Help is much appreciated.

I am using Aeon MQ5 Mod skin for Helix right now.
Is it posible to hide command line window when I start the game? Maybe some workaround?
On some games like Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition this window displays up to 10 seconds and it doesn't look nice at all Sad
@nalias: Thanks. Maybe there is an issue because there is more than 1 file in your archive. I guess I always tested with 1 file zips.

@Maaarv: Aeon MQ5 ships its own RCB skin files. So you need to make the changes in the files in the Aeon MQ5 skin directory. I will look into the nfo thing.

@Booch: Not as a feature in RCB. It didn't disturb me enough to investigateSmile

Ok, I know how to convert batch file to run it in invisible mode.
Maybe I can do a workaround myself with your little help, just point me where I should start if it's possible to replace some file with my executable file ?
@Booch go to edit rom collection then click on launch games tab then select use popen, to launch emulator to see if it helps.
