The subjects says it all. I have the latest official and nightly builds for XBMC and I've noticed that often I can't start it. It appears that this occurs when the display is off.

I often am just running XBMC in party mode for background music so I don't need the large TV on, but if it's not on, XBMC just crashes. Any ideas?
1. Reboot Mac mini. HDMI attached display is off, or off that input
2. Use remote desktop to see Mac boots
3. Start XBMC. XBMC stops, logs shows "Unable to create window"
4. Set input on display to attach to Mac mini
5. Reboot MM
6. Start XBMC
7. XBMC starts

This is important because XBMC is really the ONLY way to play non AAC audio on a Mac, and DLNA players don't really exist -- servers do, but not players. Once up and running, you can turn off the display and things are fine -- at which point I use my iPhone as a remote.
What a poor description! "latest official" does not tell us anything!!

You need to specify the revision for it to mean ANYTHING!

There is currently a freeze on builds due to the merger, and you should stay on revision 28276 or lower until it is done. Team XBMC will ignore any tickets on any higher revision until the merger is done.

"XBMC needs an OpenGL surface which means some type of display connected."

So you need a display.
