I have a quick question. I managed to install LIRC and also get my remote set up with the config file from lirc.org. "IRW" gives me results when pressing keys on the remote, so it appears that the config file is working and the remote properly set up.

Unfortunately, XBMC does not react. Link below shows the key mapping.

Setting up Lirc is just step 1 of 2. You'll need a custom remote section in Lircmap.xml.

In other words, repleace "key names" in Lircmap.xml with yours from lirc configuration file like powervcr, sourcevcr etc.
