I am having an issue with my ATV XBMC system. I am sorry if this has been addressed in another thread, but I have done alot of internet searching and cant find anything on the subject. I am running a ATV with XBMC in my bedroom over my 801.11G network. My Mac Mini with an external TB drive is wired to the same network and hosts all of my multimedia. My main problem is with movies with two parts, specifically Lord of The Rings (extended versions of all three moves) & Schindler's List. But here comes the kicker... I have another movie that is a two parter that works fine, the only difference is that the working movie is in AVI format and the two not working are M4V (I would rather not convert these movies to AVI). XBMC on my Mac Mini plays LOTR and Schindler just fine as one whole movie, but my ATV simply will not play the videos. I ripped the films with Handbrake's Universal Setting (mainly for convenient use with my other Apple Devices). The first video The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King (2003) disk 1.m4v will play thru ATV if i go thru the video menu, into the folder with the two files, then manually select the first part, but will not play the second part of any of the rips even if i manually select just the second part. I know it sounds pretty confusing, and it is driving me crazy. Any help or redirection would be greatly appreciated. I have updated XBMC and the Launcher in ATV to the most current build. Please ask me any questions if you need clarification and I will gladly answer to the best of my ability.
I would think you could stack ATV's on top of each other without much difficulty - they're flat, unlike the Boxee box for instance. :p

More seriously, however, a debug log may indicate what the fault is Smile

Cheers,
Jonathan
Yes, they do stack nicely.
I don't like stacking them personally. I have a stand that will hold around 500 cases and they rack in there very nicely.
This is what I am getting... I hope this is the right info and it is helpful...

Just to double check, i went back into the Video menu, went to Movie folder, opened LOTR folder, and first part played fine. Hope that helps.

Thanks again..
Juan
I imagine if you stack too many they may melt into an ATVBall
Yeah I get it, You are all very clever... Now that we have established that, is there anyone who can actually help me with my problem?
maybe a pastebin of the full xbmc.log might help tell us what most current build means. Also is your Mac Mini running 10.6 ?
XBMC is running on ATV (SVN 26018)
Mac Mini is running OSX 10.6.3
To eliminate any network issue, can this stack play when moved to the local disk ? OSX 10.6 has several known SMB sharing issues.
The stack plays find on the Mac Mini running the same SVN, but also plays fine on the ATV installed with the same patchstick in my living room... When I pick LOTR for instance, it says the files are stacked and asks which part i want to play.
Should I maybe run a factory restore and reinstall with the patchstick? Or possibly upgrade my appletv software then run appletv patchstick 3.0? Maybe something corrupted over time... I am still on take 2, not sure if that makes a difference...

I'm confused now, first you said "XBMC on my Mac Mini plays LOTR and Schindler just fine as one whole movie, but my ATV simply will not play the videos." Now you say, "plays fine on the ATV". You have two ATVs, one plays stacked, the other does not ?
Yes, I have two one that is working and one that doesn't. I apologize for not mentioning that the ATV in question is in my bedroom and that there is actually a second.
