I use a diffuse on 99% of my images but it wont work when pointing to extrathumbs?

Is there a workaround/hack to do this?

Forgive me, its started working.

Its all the same code diffuse="xxx.png". My guess is some extrathumbs you have a probably screen grabs from ember and might be hard to tell with black bars that they are being diffused
