I've decided to reinstall my already 'old' 9.04 ubuntu and 9.04 xbmc with a new version and decided to go with 10.04 LTS.
So far as there is still no stable release in Lucid PPA, I've installed it from svn-PPA.
BTW - thanks to xbmc wiki and a great how-to from rbonon (http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=71609)
However, after all steps xbmc doesn't start and gives the following error at the end of the log:
I do understand that svn PPA was not refreshed for 9 weeks.
However are there lucky people who are using XBMC on 10.04 and did not compile it from sources?
