With Windows media center I can use my satellite Set top box but I am not a fan of the player. I would really like to use XBMC with my satellite receiver? Would this be possible??

Thanks
If you can install linux on it then yes!
linux on what...The satellite receiverHuh
It's really a complicated answer withs if's and but's so just assume the answer is no. You'll know when there's a fully functioning version of Xbmc that will run on small STB's, and which one's it'll work on.
Ok, I'm sorry, I'm not asking the correct way. I have a xbmc computer and Dish Network. What I would like to do is run my Dish Network though my XBMC computer. So all my channels show up in XBMC. I know I have to hook RCA's or S-Video thorugh the computer from the dish network STB.

But how do I populate the channels in XBMC?

Thank you
Ah. You want PVR integration. This allows Xbmc to control a PVR backend system such as MythTV. If MythTV can control your Dish Networks receiver (presumably via an IR blaster) then yes it could be possible. It's a very new feature which I've not had the chance to experiment with myself so I can't comment any more.

I'm using MediaPortal as a backend and can view Analog cable in XBMC without channels in the guide. I would think hooking up a STB would be simple.

I know there are many threads out there on this. But I cannot pinpoint one that really helps me. Could some one please point me in the right direcetio?

Thank you
