Full Version: The difference between PC and HDMI Input?

Hi all.

My mac mini attaches to my TV twice, once with HDMI and once with a PC input.

The tv is a new samsung LED job.

I am experiencing issues.

On the PC input video runs smooth as silk, but is dull and lifeless in colour.

On eht HDMI input the colour is amazing and vibrant but videos are jumpy as anything.
It can be any video from the cheapest downloaded AVI, up to 1080p content.

I have worked out that this has something to do with the refresh set in OSX. Initially hdmi was set at like 24hz and in that mode 1080p content plays wonderfully. But everything else is shite.

at 60 (ntsc) the AVIs etc run fine but the 1080 is jumpy as anything.

I wonder what settings I need to adjust to fix this. I have ticked to have xbmc adjust for refresh which has helped slightly but I am still not there.

This issue goes back a while, the logs show nothing and was confirmed by Davillia to show nothing. so its something between OSX/XBMC and the screen.

Otherwise is there a way to make the PC input as vibrant as the HDMI?
Looking at the info. I am showing.

Video: H264, 1920x1080 P(vq88%, dc:vda h264, Mb/s 2.87, drop 14, pc none)

w(fps 24, cpu 47%_ s(refresh:60 missed:6 speed +0.000% sync+20% error 40%)

The sync and the error move rapidly, with the error showing between 0 and 100% error and the sync between 0 and 30%

I don't know what these mean.
