I'm using official Alaska from git with the Stencil xpr and color scheme (though I have the same problem with default). I am also using XBMC build 30260, and I have made Alaska compatible by copying over the description.xml and addon.xml. Everything works perfectly, except my watched overlay does not appear. I have made sure the option is enabled. How can I rectify this?

Check in your 720p folder if u have a file called VideoOverlay.xml
If you do, then i think it may have something to do with the fact that you replaced those files. I didn't do that and it works perfectly fine for me.
