I have searched for an answer to this here on the forums and wiki, but did not come up with one.

None of my music has any art. I have the XBMC scraper set to allmusic. I have left the machine/xbmc running for a few hours, but nothing shows up, not even after a restart.

Might it haver something to do with how my music flows into XBMC?

The path I use inside XBMC is

Music->Music plugins->iTunes

which pulls in my stuff from the main iTunes library.

Do I need to set a different path or do something else entirely? I've read elsewhere on the forums about media scrapers but did not find one that runs in OS X for music art.

IMO you'll have better success if you use XBMC's library and forget about iTunes.

Just point XBMC at where your iTunes music is and scan it into the library.

While you're about it, make sure that you have the artwork properly embedded within your music files as iTunes cheats and works with it's own non-standard method of associating artwork with your music.
