Hey guys, I am getting tired of moving files and copying from my pc to my revo's external drives. So I was wondering if this would work?

Would this work well? like would I be able to read it from my acer like an external right after I plug it into my network? Same goes for my windows 7 pc? I need something thats simple to get working and easy to use.

that would work fine - I have a couple of old drobos with a droboshare (the model you've linked to has the droboshare functionality built in), but it got to a point where I just didn't trust them with my data so I moved to my own OpenSolaris ZFS based NAS.

Drobo's will work for XBMC, but read about their speeds. I wouldn't want to try to serve multiple HD clients with one.

Personally I am a big fan of building my own NAS using Unraid, but for someone that wants something "plug and play" I think an Atom or Celeron based WHS server is a better value:
