Seems like my mac can handle this just fine (3.06 GHZ, 2GB of ram, 256 shared memory on the video card.)

I was running some HD video earlier today and all was smooth and something must have changed that is making this run poorly. The file playing is not even HD (just a Bluray xvid) and it's choppy. Not to familiar with the "o" settings displayed but I figured I'd have someone else take a look at it. Even standard divx files are playing poorly. Hmmph.

Thanks.

Theres the log, sorry about that Spiff. I think I found the issue (something to do with switching my audio settings). Could be that I selected this to downmix audio or the fact I was using a different output device. Take a look at the log regardless, I'd like to know exactly what it was. Just curious. Thanks man, I appreciate it.
seems to be audio related yeah. it tries to set raw mode on the device (passthrough i assume) and fails badly.
Yeah, I run my Mac's audio from an external soundcard and then use the default output device to pass optical audio from XBMC through to my TV/Surround sound. This way I don't get any of the computer's audio (youtube or IM's, whatever) on the TV. I think I have it working fine now by just using that default setup I spoke of. Switched things around for a minute as I'm waiting for a piece to get HDMI out from Mac to the TV.

Funny how that little switch would effect the video aspect of it so much. Shows how little I know about the software part of all this. Haha.

Thanks again man.
why are you still running 10.6.0, there have been 4 updates since the original release ? The current is 10.6.4.

Does you external digital receiver support all these formats ? Do you even have an external receiver connected for digital audio output ?
I am on 10.6.4 and yes my receiver supports those formats.
try the nightly build before the one you are using.

http://trac.xbmc.org/changeset/31483 was a change to the audio subsystem that should not have effected digital audio output.
