Hi,

I'm running r31495. When I play a specific file, I've got no sound during playback and after no sound in the xbmc menu (small click when you change menus). If I exit and go back to apple menu, I still got no sound. However if I play a youtube video the sound comes back up, and I've got sound again in the menus.

Hi,

I reverted back to 31440, and I don't have this problem.

Davilla, seems to be caused by changeset 31483
http://trac.xbmc.org/changeset/31483
I'm having an audio issue too which might be related.

I'm running r31516 and playing a .avi file with a MPEG-4/XVID video codec and AC3 audio to my flat panel TV over HDMI. I do have a CrystalHD card.

Not only is there no audio for this video, the ATV is no longer unable to put out audio either through XBMC or through ATV's native applications, regardless of media, until a reboot.

I must confess I had not tried Youtube as a restoration vehicle until reading this thread but it works as an alternative to rebooting.

If the devs need my logs, I will post them.
unmesh, I've got the similar setup, same problem.

I'll open a ticket when I have a few minutes. I did every option possible in system, audio config with no luck. However, it's strange that nobody else had an issue with this. Maybe, most people have a digital receiver in a home theater setup.

If a dev could look at this it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
r31542 has the same problem. I too reverted back to r31440.

It is intriguing that only two of us are reporting this problem. It is either our hardware or whatever it is in the media that is triggering the bug!
Going to need more xbmc.logs and mediainfo data. So far no dev has been able to reproduce so not quite sure what's going on.
Just updated to r31542 and now have this issue...

Tried it on a handful of different movies and always have the same result.

Have sound output untill the movie loads then nothing. Even after returning to the appletv menu i have no sound. Sound only returns on reboot..
Hi,

My setup consist of the ATV connected to my tv Sony KDL-32VL140 with only a HDMI cable. In XBMC, System-Settings-System-Audio output- HDMI, 2.0, Boost seleted, none of the capable selected and default output device.

Here's some more logging... hope this helps. When I started XBMC the audio was working. I then played a file with mp3 audio, the audio is still working. Then I played a file with AC-3 audio, the audio was not working with this file, and the audio in xbmc menu was no longer working.

Looks like xbmc.log is cut off. I don't see any playback.

Seems like pastebin.org has a number of line limit... :-(

My bad.

@curlyjs

would it be possible to get the sample of the file(50-100mb) that triggers this bug? you can PM me with the link if you can provide it.

if it can be reproduced , I am sure it can be fixed Smile
I'll try this tonight. I'm not familiar with site that can host those file... any suggestions?

BTW, any file with AC-3 audio encoding will trigger this.

btw, if someone else could test this file and post their logs it would be nice to see that I'm not alone with this...

Thanks,
@curlyjs

I have tried attached file and it plays fine on my ATV via HDMI cable.

one difference I am seeing in the log is that I have analog audio selected and you have digital. try setting it to analog rather than default output.
