I compiled xbmc from source , but how do i get it to run like the xbmc-live version?

do i have to compile xbmc-live also?

normally i would upgrade using the ppa and just do an apt-get install xbmc-live and im done. but with the ppa failing to build i386 for quite some time this is the only why I could upgrade.

Basically i just want it to start on boot like the live version.

You could just add it to startup. Go to System>Preferences>Startup Applications then click the add button.

i run a minimal install so no GUI

It is possible to download and I assume manually install the xbmc-live components.

EDIT: In version 9.04 I first installed xbmcbuntu and then compiled from svn..live stilled worked but I didnt like it because apt saw it is currupt.
