I have been running ubuntu 8.10 for a while and using svn for my xbmc builds. I stopped building xbmc for quite some times since everything i use it for works perfectly. In addition, until the plugins get converted to addins I havent built the newer darhma branch of xbmc. I am wondering at what point should I upgrade my ubuntu to 10.4? Also, does this mean I have to start from scratch again and configure my alsa, power (sleep), and other things all over again?

I was gonna upgrade next stable release personally. The upgrades in the PVR branch and having skins are easy pluggins will make it worth it.

I wish i could use it as a pvr, but with satellite tv its harder to do that.
