I am looking to use a comcast universal remote (the one with the Red OK/Select Button) with my XBMC live set up on an acer revo 1600.

Is this possible? What steps do I need to take and what do I need to do it (do i need a dongle, a receiver, or something along those lines?)

Since that remote isn't a learning one (need a code to program). There are a couple Microsoft codes 20522, 21708, 21972 in the manual so hopefully if you get a HP or Microsoft IR receiver LIRC can be set up.

I'd first program the AUX key with codes then go to a computer store with Windows media center computers to test (HPs would be best since they've used MCE codes consistently).

Has anyone had any experience using a Microsoft IR receiver and XBMC live?
