Just installed the XBMCfreak 10.08 with SVN32416 - and it seems to work ok.

But, after I've setup the audio hw like i used to in XBMC live 9.11 - it wont play sound properly through SPDIF (optical).

When I play a videofile with MP3 sound - it sends the audio to my TV, through the HDMI cable. I have selected that my Reciever can play Mp3 in the audio settings - but I'm unsure if that's the case.

Is there a way to make XBMC/The computer to decode the audio - and then just send it to the reciever? I'm also unsure exactly what Passthrough means. I know that my reciever can process DTS audio - so when I play a movie with DTS sound - i get the sound on my reciever.

My settings:

Audio output: Digital
Dolby digital capable reciever: yes
DTS capable reciever: yes
mp1: unsure..
mp2: unsure..
mp3: unsure..

Audio output device: IEC958
Passthrough output device: IEC958
(as far as I can remember i had default on one of those in Live 9.11)

My reciever is a Sony STR-DG520B - and has these built in codecs:
Dolby Pro Logic, Dolby Pro Logic II, Dolby Digital Surround EX, Dolby Digital, DTS-dekoder, Dolby Pro Logic IIx

So I guess I cannot passthrough MP1/2/3 audio to it? But why does it send it to the TV - instead of decoding it in the soundcard - and then sending the sound to the reciever?

All help is greatly appreciated.
