Problem looks to me to be squid not handling https properly.

If you can disable the https in Squid it will probably work.

IF you stop a video in XBMC, you can resume it when you play it again. Can we add this for Youtube videos also ? (and use the timestamp feature)

This should be fixed in XBMC head as of 5 min ago(thanks go out to cptspiff).

ETA: I've verified the patch works. Note that the resume function will NOT work if you are less than 3 min into the video.

Hi This seems to be related to this track ticket: http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/11584

Code:
23:54:19 T:139814311319296 M:1117360128  NOTICE: YouTube-2.1.2 ARGV: ['plugin://plugin.video.youtube/', '-1', '?path=/root/recommended&scraper=recommended&login=true&']
...
23:54:20 T:139813667731200 M:1109532672   ERROR:  AddItem - called with an invalid handle.

It would seem that your 64bit build on fedora is experiencing the same regressen that Arch linux had a while ago.

Hi thanks for the log,.basically the new downloader is using our storage framework to store your queue, and that queue contains a video id that makes the downloader crash. This is a bug and I will have look tonight to see if i can figure out why this happens. A quick fix would be to delete the temporary cache created by the storage service (I think its located in xbmc's temp folder but im not quite sure.)

Ok thanks.

You have a solution for fedora?

Confirmed!

Stupid python having stupid crappy unicode support.

This problem isn't generic and should only hit with videos that have non ascii chars in their title.

Hotfix:
# Clear old download queue, and cache.
$ rm ~/.xbmc/userdata/Database/commoncache.db

#Fix log function
$ emacs ~/.xbmc/addons/script.module.parsedom/lib/CommonFunctions.py
# In the "def Log" function replace the "if isinstance(description, str):", "else:" with "try:", "except:"

Note: If this is not enough help to fix this, then you should wait for a new release.

Install another binary. I have no idea where you would find one for fedora. You could compile it yourself.

TBH, at this point in time i see little reason to not just upgrade to eden.

The binary came from rpm fusion repo :

Code:
[[email protected] ~]# yum list xbmc
adobe-linux-x86_64                                       |  951 B     00:00
rpmfusion-free-updates                                   | 3.3 kB     00:00
rpmfusion-nonfree-updates                                | 3.3 kB     00:00
updates/metalink                                         |  25 kB     00:00
updates                                                  | 4.7 kB     00:00
updates/primary_db                                       | 5.7 MB     00:03
Paquets install├ęs
xbmc.x86_64                     10.1-3.fc15                      @rpmfusion-free
I'm sorry, but this means nothing to me.

There is something wrong with your XBMC, it isn't specific to our plugin. So either trac it, or bring it up with whoever makes the fedora packages, or compile from source, or install eden.

ETA: You could try the 32-bit version if that is easier?

Hello all ...

I have a strange problem with YouTube and my internet connection.

If I connect my PC behind a router connected to my internet box, I have no problems with YouTube.

If I connect my PC directly to my internet box (cable or wireless), it is impossible to play a YouTube video in XBMC .... I can browse categories, search, download a video, but can not start playing, and that on any of my computers that have different versions of XBMC. When I start reading, the timer is running 3 to 4 seconds with the message "opening flow" then nothing. After several attempts I end up getting an error message: "one or more items could not be played ..."

If I reconnect the router behind the internet box, I connect one pc on this router, without touching anything, YouTube xbmc fully working again.

I forgot to mention:
- On all computers in the home, youtube runs without problem in a web browser, and on my iPhone or iPad connected to the wireless box.
- I installed XBMC (IOS version) on my iPad, and there Youtube works! Huh

log when all it's OK ( PC <---> Router Wifi <----> Internet Box )
Log XBMC Youtube OK

log when playing Video is not OK ( PC <----> Internet Box)
Log XBMC Youtube NOK
.. in this log, for the same video, i can not play it, but i can download it

Thanks !

(Sorry for my poor english :o )
