Hi,

After doing a fair bit of searching I wasn't able to come up with a solution to my problem, or even figure out what my problem is. First of all, I am new to xbmc and am still learning the ins and outs of the program.

My problem is I am trying to play 1080p blu ray rips through xbmc (latest safe build ie. not dharma) on a 2010 13" macbook pro, but they do not play smoothly. The video isn't jittery as such, but what happens is that the video often slows down dramatically as if its playing really bad slow motion.

Having a brand new computer I really wasn't expecting these sorts of issues, does anyone know what may be causing this and ultimately how to fix it?

Thanks in advance to anyone who could help.
give that I have no clue what the latest safe build is, a pastebin of xbmc.log would be helpful Smile
Sorry, maybe I am referring to things incorrectly after reading the terms searching through other posts. My bad.

Is this what you meant? Again, sorry, I just did a wiki search about logs and pastebin etc as I am not familiar with these sorts of things. One other thing I should mention is that when I press "o" during playback the W section states 17fps and cpu: 130%...
You must have upgraded and then downgraded or something:

13:13:48 T:2685678848 M:2617102336 ERROR: Can't open the database MyVideos34.db as it is a NEWER version than what we were expecting!

You may want to try a fresh install of Dharma Beta.
Yeah that's true. I installed Dharma yesterday and it made the existing slow framerate issue a lot worse so I went back to the old version. I will install Dharma now and do another log - I suppose I will be better off getting the latest to be working even if the initial problem is worse haha. Thank you so far for offering your help.

This is after updating to dharma (problem is again much worse, only playing at 11fps). All I did was open xbmc and go straight into playing a 1080p movie for a little bit then pausing the movie to copy the log.
10.6.4 with NVIDIA GeForce 320M OpenGL Engine. This is getting looked into once I get a loaner new MacMini that's coming my way.

OK cool. So are you thinking this is a problem specific to me or is it a problem with the setup in general?

Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

Hopefully you're able to find a fix when you get your mac! Cheers
