I recently followed this guide for XBMC Live:
http://htpcbuild.wordpress.com/2011/05/2...o-as-well/

worked perfect, but i needed to start it every time i wanna to use Airplay. (Shareport)

Now i have upgraded to Live Pre eden, and enabled airport + announce zerozonf. But nothing is visible on the network? (Trying to connect with Airfoil for windows- which worked before)

which plattform...

Like i wrote in my last post. XBMC live. Isn't it supported there?
Don't know which state xbmc live has ... sorry ... xbmclive devs should know...

a log file might clear things up...
Hi I installed the latest nightly build:
http://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/win32/...master.exe on my Windows 7 64bit (Enabled Airplay of course and all) and tried streaming through my iPad 2 with IOS 5 and from my iPhone 4 with IOS 5 and the Airplay button disappeared for no reason from my iPhone and Ipad. I tried restarting XBMC and killed the all the apps running on both my iPad and iPhone but I could not get the Airplay button to show up again?

(Worked at start for pictures and iphone videos and youtube)

Seems for some reason the receiving of the XBMC as an AirPlay receiver is getting disconnected and unstable.

I have also tried to stream video content from third party apps but sadly this version of the Airplay receiver does not support popular VOD third party app.

Will this Airplay support streaming from popular VOD third party app?
Please tell me if I can help with something to debug this feature as its my most anticipated feature! (Wish it could support the new Airplay mirroring (AMAZING FEATURE!!!) but I sadly read a few post earlier it won't for now.
Wouldn't mind paying the cost of an actual Apple TV2 to get Airplay mirroring to XBMC as it's a much more comfortable Media Center that allows me to use my HTPC for other features as well.

Please Please Please make this AirPlay work stable and at least support popular VOD third party apps Smile

whats that vod app you are talking about ... and are you sure that it will work with original atv2 airplay? Mirroring is out of lane as long as nobody hacks that drm encryption stuff.

And did you start that bonjour service which is needed on windows?

Hmm good question .. I don't own an Apple TV2 so I can't really test it to tell you but I think its supported from what I read.

Apple TV2 has mirroring so you can actually Airplay anything now.

I'm Israeli so the VOD/News apps I'm talking about are with Hebrew local content (Apps of popular TV Channels) so I don't know if you can see them at all:
(But I guess it's like that in most popular VOD/News apps as their build according to popular VOD/News apps standards.)

http://itunes.apple.com/tw/app/mako-mobi...73260?mt=8
http://itunes.apple.com/tw/app/channel2/...25550?mt=8
http://itunes.apple.com/hk/app/id336751384?mt=8
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hot-vod/id385094216?mt=8
http://itunes.apple.com/br/app/yes.mobil...70527?mt=8

I have iTunes installed so bonjour service is included and up-to-date and I can Airplay YouTube videos for instance and see them.

How did Boxee managed to enable Airplay Mirroring with their latest Firmware update??
http://www.xbmcfreak.nl/en/boxee-firmware-1-2-1-20451/

This project is based on Boxee's hack for Airplay support isn't it?

I can not se any problems in the log file. This Log file, is from my system running windows 7. (Running XBMC pre eden)

It seems like airplay is running, but nothing is picked up on the network? (testing through airfoil, with XBMC running simultaneous on the same PC as above.)

Before it worked fine with Shairport installed on my other XBMC live PC (Dharma), with Airfoil connection. (Streaming music from my windows 7 pc to XBMC live HTPC)

What's wrong with this Airplay thing?

Might not work from the same PC. I had that problem when i tried to stream music from the itunes to the xbmc which was running at the same mac. It didn't show up.

So ... I have tested any single app you linked me to. And when AirPlaying to XBMC it only streams the sound via AirTunes. I tried it with an native ATV2 and it also only plays the sound. So this is 100% apps feature.

The cause you don't see your XBMC is because windows build doesn't support AirTunes yet.

No Bug - No missing feature - nothing to do here (<- wanted say this so much all the time).

And Boxee doesn't have mirroring. Read the forum thread which is linked there. Its just some wired kind of marketing or bad formulated news...

help ?

Look out for "AirTunes" messages in your log - or post the full log to pastebin.com and provide the link here. AIRPLAY is for video only - and since you said this is working we can ignore the errors here ...

I have the same problem. AirPlay works fine. AirTunes doesn't work at all. My Mac computers won't even recognize that the service is available (tried iTunes and AirFoil).

The AirTunes server does however show up on my iPhone 4 (with iOS 5), but I can't get it to work anyway. When I select XBMC the AirTunes icon gets blue, but nothing happens when I press play.

Full debug log. Can't find any AirTunes related messages in it though.

The ppa build seems to miss the airtunes support ... something like this has to show up in your logs when airtunes is supported:

Code:
20:18:15 T:2962079744   DEBUG: Thread CAirTunesServer start, auto delete: 0
20:18:15 T:2688435520   DEBUG: CZeroconfOSX::doPublishService identifier: servers.airtunes type: _raop._tcp name:14DAE933A07D@i7Mac port:36666

I only wonder why your iphone shows it as a music target because the zeroconf (see last line above) doesn't announce airtunes on your ppa build.
I know it's not getting added to the nightlies, but has anyone manage to make it work in xbmc on Windows? I have shairport4w running seperately, but would like to integrate it into xbmc if possibe. Lots of links showing how to do it on linux, but nothing on windows.
I got it runnining in windows smoothly after installing Bonjour printer services
