As I assume many people are using some variant of SAMBA to share files, we should be aware that there is currently a very serious vulnerability with all previous versions.

A new release has been issued to address the issue, but vulnerable versions can be exploited remotely.

This is only a concern if you a) have an intruder running around your internal network or you b) have SMB mounts exposed to the outside world.

In the case of a) you are screwed already and b) don't do that.
