I would like for xbmc to play stereo music/movies through ONLY my 2 stereo speakers and my sub, instead of duplicating the front speakers through my rear speaks as well... The rears just can't handle it. further, it seems to be driving my center with (presumably) some mix of both left and right channels. also, i definitely still want 5.1 audio to play appropriately through all 5.1 speakers when I'm playing surround movies or tracks.
is there a way to make stereo play only through the front speaks and sub, and not duplicate to the rears and center, and still have surround?
I'm running linux with pulseaudio on a soundblaster 5.1 emu10k1.
any help appreciated.
