Darn it... I'm really getting crazy of this. It's like problem after problem after problem on the Asrock 330HT. I've updated from Beta 1 to XBMC Beta 2 and i fixed most of the problems, but now i suddenly do not have sound anymore. It says "failed to initialize sound device, please check your sound settings". It doesn't matter wich sound setting i select in XBMC it always gives me that same error message.

I don't know whats going on and i could really use some expert help. Would be great for me and all of those hours i spent getting the Asrock 330HT workingSad

Hope that someone can help me out, againBlush Some friend told me onces that it was easy to configure XBMC and install it on a Asrock 330HT. I never forgave him saying that. If anyone needs anything like a log or some device setting than i will post it here, just tell me how and where than i'll provide.

Thanks in advance,
Fjerpje

Upgrading the distro kills the ALSA drivers, either save your database and do a fresh install of Dharma 2 (which is what I did) or use the different upgrade command for XBMC mentioned on the first page by Flomaster next time, not sure it would help now though.

In my experience "posting in a useful manner" doesn't aid in anyone actually bothering to help: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=81234
install the beta2 live cd and try these 2 commands:

sudo wget http://pastebin.com/download.php?i=f5f9654bb -O /etc/asound.conf

sudo wget http://pastebin.com/download.php?i=f2e38265 -O /usr/share/alsa/cards/HDA-Intel.conf

then reboot.

there's nothing wrong with the current beta2 (as far as I can see). Just backup your userdata folder and then copy it back after the re-install.

Maybe, but if you don't at least include xbmc.log and any crashlog (if xbmc crashed), that's certainly a way to make me skip over the post.
Hi there,

Sorry for this post i didn't saw the post beneeth this one. Just as i posted this issue i saw this post http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=81208&page=2 and that worked out for me. Normally i always look at first but i was a little frustrated about fixing allot issues and thinking that everything worked, the sound failed.

Srry for that. Thanks for the repley's though i got everything working now as it is.

Thanks,
Fjerpje
