Hello,

I have the latest XBMC installed on my home theater pc. The problem i have is that after every reboot all the settings are gone. The only settings that stay are the sources I added.

This means everytime I turn on my HTPC (every night), I have to change settings to be able to view movies (otherwise I don't have video just audio) and make sure my remote works. I reinstalled a few times, I downloaded the XBMC again from the website and burned it on a new CD. It is installed to my harddisk, the cd is not in the player after the installation. The problem keeps coming back.

I'm not afraid to use CLI and root account, I just don't know what to edit.
check ownership of you xbmc datafiles

Drop to a shell and type

Quote:ls -l /home/xbmc/.xbmc/userdata/

They should all be owned to xbmc (assuming the user you setup was xbmc).

If not chown them to your user.

You might want to check the Database and profiles directories too.
This happens to me awhile back on jaunty and xbmc 9.11. Somone mentioned to me it could be a corrupt os, I never really resolved th issue, however I just recently reformatted and installed beta 2 live to hdd and all is well now in the saving after reboot an shutdown
So maybe it was a os issue.
