I store all my media on an external hard drive connected to my desktop. I have this drive shared out, and can use this media on my laptop. On my laptop, however, when I try to add the drive as a video source, I hit browse, then windows network. Nothing is there. I have allowed XBMC through my firewall. Any suggestions?

Try selecting Browse then Add network location then fill in the server name, share name and username and password is appropriate.
