Is there a way to turn off the text display of the show title right under the banners? It seems redundant to me, and tends to clutter up the display unnecessarily.

nope, the only way to get rid of it is to remove
the label controls in View-WideIcon.xml.

Could you please add an option button in the skin config screen to enable or disable it in a future release?

nope sorry, i can't make every single thing in the skin optional.
