Hi,

I have installed xbmc live to a USB drive and have been advised that tmpfs is a good idea for temporary locations.

However, as a linux noob I have no idea how do use it. I have tried 'sudo apt-get install tmpfs', but have had no luck.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for setting this up?

I have found /etc/mtab, which seems to mention that it is being used. So is it already a part of the system? Is it here that I specify how to use it, and in which case what options are required?

Thanks for any help!

Mark
check out the section where it says "less writes", you might want to read the whole article do have an understanding why it is advised to move those directory's to tmpfs (ramdisk)

you don't need to install tmpfs as it is an kernel function
