I feel like an idiot for having to ask this, but after spending an evening trying to read and research it, I've given up and decided to swallow my pride and just ask.

I'm trying to understand the plug-in system and realize I need to drag some files into the plugins/programs directory per the Wiki article.

Where can I find this directory?

I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 & XBMC 1:9.11-lucid3

I should note that I haven't used Linux in about a year and at that time I was only somewhat familiar with it.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: *sigh* so, I had created a note of things to try and get ironed out with this project just a few minutes ago. As part of that note I created "~/.xbmc/ - where is this in Ubuntu". The ~/.xbmc portion of that note was linked, so I clicked on it...and it took me to the folder, which is under my user folder. However, if I click back one, I don't see it listed. Is this a hidden folder? is that what the . indicates?
the "." in Ubuntu indicates a hidden folder.
Press control+H to show hidden folders.
