I have minimal Ubuntu and XBMC installed. When I put DVD into the drive it plays just fine. Now, how do I access the files on CD/DVD using file manager? CD drive does not show up like my thumbdrive does. I have few DVDs with DivX cartoons which I would like to copy onto the HTPC.

Thanks.
Anybody?
which version of xbmc? this was horribly borken in 9.11/camelot. i guess you could try adding a source pointing to /media/cdrom but it's a long shot at best.
I am running 9.11 Live that's installed to the hard drive. I guess my best bet would be to wait for stable Dharma release and upgrade?
if my suggestion doesn't work, then yes.
Could you please explain how to add a source point? I am a complete noob when it comes to Linux. Thanks.
nothing to do with linux. in xbmc, open the context menu in the file manaager, choose add source, type /media/cdrom/ name it and hit ok.
Thanks.
