I am thinking about doing a skin based on famous movie quotes. Before doing some mockups I'D like to know if it is doable to scrape quotes from IMDB?

If it is accessable like any other info on IMDB, it shouldn't be a problem. Ask around in the Scraper Development forum. Perhaps the IMDB scraper that fetches movie information can be edited to suit your needs?

scraping the info is one thing, but making it available to the skin is a totally different game.
keep in mind, xbmc will have to be modified in order to support that.

Sure, but if he wants to fetch the quote instead of the tagline or something, shouldn't that be possible? By modifying an existing scraper.
