Hi All,
The title says it all. Is there any way to get xbmc to behave with a composite screen, it works perfectly with composite off, but I use composite on most of the time..
I am running gnome with compiz installed and using gtk window themes on archlinux.

This is probably outside our hands, I run compiz on my desktop (and many I would bet) which I develop on. I have no problems running xbmc.
I'd suggest checking different versions of compiz or check your drivers, I'm fairly certain its outside xbmc space.

I am using the latest catalyst drivers to go with xorg-server 1.9.0, can anyone verify that combo works ..

Nothing wrong there, you can test with setting render method to basic shaders(arb) or to software.
Thanks, setting to basic shaders did the trick. I wonder why I don't have advanced shading support anymore since the upgrade to catalyst and xorg-server ..
Edit: glxinfo shows: OpenGL shading language version string: 3.30
