I installed XBMC 9.11 from the LiveCD on a computer I had sitting around, and the install went great. Very quick, painless, etc. Now, when I boot, I get no GUI.
I'll get:
The BIOS image
A message telling me that menu is starting
XBMC logo with a loading wheel underneath it
Finally, a screen with an X in the upper right corner and tty1 with a blinking cursor.
I've tried 'startx' but this hasn't done anything, and I get a cut-off message ending in ...60 seconds.
If anyone can lend a hand I'd appreciate it, and please bear in mind that I have minimal experience in Linux based systems.
