You must have the jsonrpc tags in the xml file or xbmconimon will not connect unless you set the tcp port to the same value as the webserver port. However if you do this, json notifications won't be sent out and you will get no playing show info!
I am having the same issue as you described here. I can only connect when I set the TCP port to be the same as the webserver port, but then I get no show info.
I tried setting the port to '9090' which should be the default, and I tried setting it in the advancedsettings.xml to 9090 and still nothing.
Anyone have any ideas?
I'm using Kodi 15.2 and have both the perslej and margru versions of XBMC on iMon.

I am on Jarvis.
I got the same issue from time to time.
In the program .net exceptions are caught, nut no natives are caught, causing some threads to crash from time to time.
I got the issues when playing songs that are longer then 20 min , but shorter then 1 hour, then the timespan.parse() method would crash.
If you got the same issue, when it crashes from time to time, you can my edited verion
here.
I'm running Win7, x86, with Kodi 16

Do you have advancedsettings.xml in the correct directory? One way to check this: Is xmbconimon saying its connected now that you have the tcp port changed to 9090?

I tried to get this working on Win10 x64 with Kodi and my Silverstone CW03 case which runs iMon to display on an LCD monitor. Whenever I start Kodi, XBMC on iMon crashes. I've tried a few different ports but still just get a crash. Does anyone have this working on similar hardware? And Win10? What settings should I have for kodi and XBMC on iMon?
Thanks

Thanks for the info but this isnt working for me. I am using Win10 x64 and Kodi 15.2 if that makes any difference? Would a log output be useful?

Thanks, i tried ur script, and settings, and i was able to connect, but i am still not able to initialize Imon via XbmcOniMonVFD
I still do not see anything reflected from xbmc to vfd.
This used to work once upon a time, much before i had upgraded.. but is broken now.
Please guide.

Still works for me on Kodi 17 Beta 3.
Does it also work with Kodi from the windows store?
