When I play DVDs (either via an ISO file or via USB DVD drive) on my AppleTV, I get no sound on my TV (Sony KDL-40V5500). The connection is via a HDMI cable.

Music and DivX movies (with "normal" mp3 encoded sound) plays fine.

Audio output is set to Analog
Speaker configuration to 2.0
Audio output device to Default Audio Device

XBMC version Beta4 r35068 (but I have tried the other betas with the same result)

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you live4ever. I guess I should have noticed that before!

17:33:30 Start to play DVD. No sound via HDMI to TV
17:34:20 Start to play AVI for comparison. Sound via HDMI to TV is OK

Sound is available via analog out, but not via HDMI when playing DVD.

OK, - I finally got it! In the Apple TV menu Setting, Audio & Video, Dolby Digital out should be set to Off.
