ingeon Wrote:Understand, but why if I have no drives in DVD-rom does it work. If I forget a disk in the drive, I have to remove it, restart XBMC and then it`s okay. And this is not just Advanced Launcher, I understand that.
I don't know, but it must be a XBMC related bug. Because there is no reason to this.
I've installed the latest stable sdlmame (0.142 I think) but I can't start it properly. I tried with AL but when I start a rom from the list I can see that mame is starting and counts until 100% but just before the game would launch it exits.
Any suggestions ?
Thx

Do you have follows the WIKI page instruction for sdlmame?
http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?ti..._/_SDLMAME
Do you have try to start roms with sdlmane using command line out of XBMC and Advanced Launcher? It could be also a configuration problem of sdlmame (mame.ini file).

I think it is an actual bug of PCSXR. To bypass this you can use the
unclutter linux application which is able to hides your X mouse cursor when not used. So, you can wrote a small bash script (.sh) as launcher that will start unclutter before starting PCSXR.
Code:
#!/bin/bash
unclutter -idle 0 &
/usr/bin/pcsx -nogui -cdfile "$1"
killall -9 unclutter
With this script, the unclutter process is started and instantaneously hide the mouse cursor (after 0 second). Then, PCSXR is started. Finally when PCSXR is closed, the unclutter process is killed to restore the mouse cursor display.
Thanks for the help. This should be added to your wiki.
I was thinking about making a script to move the cursor to the top of the screen but you improved on that idea.
Thanks

I am sure it will work.

No can not play them directly. There is possibility to start Windows application on Linux system using
Wine but only a limited number of application are compatible. It is possible, but I do not recommend it.
Is there a specific .exe you are trying to run?
There are usually lots of alternatives in linux to a windows app.
or as stated above check out wine

haha, I completely figured that out after I loaded it on acdvanced launcher... I was like ... wait a minute...
I am not going to bother with wine, too many headaches in the past. I will set my sites on pcsx2 which will take care of most games that I want. I am most worried about my Revo 1600 with minimal ubuntu install being able to handle it, hardware wise. I will keep you guys posted on my progress and if I run into any major problems.
