Here is the post where
KiSUAN describes Advanced Launcher trailer support into Night Purity skin :
http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=730...tcount=160. To be honest, I did not found the time yet to test it. I think the best way for you is to directly ask to
KiSUAN how trailers are supported.
Yeah thanks Angelscry. Once I get an answer back I will write a quick tut on it.
Thanks again for your super speedy replies
Angelscry Wrote:That's not a really easy thing to do. It is mostly related, firstly, to the power of your computer to start an application and secondly to the time an application takes to focus into fullscreen windows. That's not really constant or parameters we can control easily.
I think, it might be possible to use AutoIt to make a transition screen script :- XBMC start the script
- The script directly show a black fullscreen image
- The script start hyperspin
- When Hyperspin screen is focused
- Switch black fullscreen to Hyperspin screen.
But even with this kind of script... I'm not sure you will not see the desktop when XBMC will start the script.
You can also try to make a script that will turn off/turn on your monitor instead of using a black fullscreen image.
You can also try to turn your Windows Desktop into a pseudo transition screen : select a black wallpaper, hide all the icons and the taskbar.
I thought it wouldn't be easy, I'm not a scripter or a coder. But at least I have a few options, maybe it' something I should tackle
Thanks for the quick reply, awesome work bro.
Angelscry Wrote:You still have the alternative to create a .bat script that will close XBMC before starting Mirror's Edge, and then will restart XBMC when Mirror's Edge will be closed : http://www.gwenael.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=6
It could also be linked to a windows users rights problem. I have already encounter such kind of problem with Boxee application : not able to start Boxee from XBMC. If have fixed this problem using this following method : http://www.gwenael.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=25 Maybe, it will also work for Mirror's Edge.
It doesn't work with the first solution.
The batch file ran well but I have the same crash. Here is the windows pop-up with the batch lines:
E:\Jeux PC\Mirror's Edge\Binaries>pskill -t XBMC.exe
PsKill v1.13 - Terminates processes on local or remote systems
Copyright © 1999-2009 Mark Russinovich
Sysinternals -
http://www.sysinternals.com
14 processes named XBMC.exe killed.
E:\Jeux PC\Mirror's Edge\Binaries>cd E:\Jeux PC\Mirror's Edge\Binaries\
E:\Jeux PC\Mirror's Edge\Binaries>MirrorsEdge.exe
After that, I tried 2 things:
- from Advanced launcher, with a batch file with PSkill = crash
- From Windows 7, with Xbmc in background, using a batch file with PSkill =
OK
Maybe we need to put a delay between killing (or else) XBMC and running Mirror's edge, don't you think so?

Seems that the problem occurs when Mirror Edge is started from XBMC. So try the second solution using this command line :
Code:
CPAU -u USERNAME -p PASSWORD -ex "E:\Jeux PC\Mirror's Edge\Binaries\MirrorsEdge.exe -p" -wait
where USERNAME will be the windows login username and PASSWORD the login password.
Version 1.5.6 : This version of Advanced Launcher just fix a small bug present into the recent ComicVine data scrapper.
ChangeLog:- Fix small bug into ComicVine data scapper
Just to check before I go ahead and do this.
Is there a file launcher option for linux like there is for launching .lnk's in windows.
If not I will do a quick script up for this.

You can use
symbolic links as shortcuts under Linux. It may works with Advanced Launcher.
my plan was to put a quick script together that will take adn input and launch the game from the correct path.
example.
if x = "quake" then /usr/bin/games/quake
or at least something along those lines instead of messing with sym links.

Advanced Launcher manage files, no parameters. So the ore simple will be to create small executable scripts (all into the same folder) and use them with a Files Launcher, for example :
quake.sh
Code:
#!/bin/bash
/usr/bin/games/quake
But what program would i choose to launch the scripts?

For the program, create another small script that will take filepaths as argument and that will start them :
launcher.sh
And that why you sir are a hero.
Thanks for the snappy response...
Hello, I'm trying this out for the first time today. As you can see from my specs in my sig, I use my monitor as my primary display and my HDTV as my secondary, the HDTV is where I display my HTPC apps. AL is launching Media Center and Hulu Desktop to the HDTV just fine for me, but when I exit those apps to return to XBMC it opens on the primary, despite XBMC being configured in Settings to open on the HDTV. Is there any way I can change this? I didn't find anything on the Wiki nor this thread. I thank you very much in advance for your help.
Please disregard - dumb question. Figured it out.
